What we collect directly
Nothing that identifies you. This site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter sign-up, no comment system and no contact form. We do not ask for your name, your email address or your location, and there is no mechanism here for you to give them to us.
The site is a static export served as plain files. There is no application database holding reader records.
Google AdSense and third-party advertising
This site uses third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, to serve ads when you visit our website. Google and its certified third-party vendor partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites across the Internet.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. These third-party ad networks automatically receive your IP address and may use other tracking technologies to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize advertising content.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (US) or https://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (EU/UK).
Cookie categories and consent
We use the following categories of cookies: (1) Strictly Necessary / Essential cookies required for core site functionality and security; (2) Performance and Analytics cookies to measure aggregated readership; (3) Advertising cookies set by Google and ad partners to display relevant advertisements.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we seek your prior consent before placing non-essential advertising or analytics cookies. You can grant, reject, or manage your consent at any time through the cookie consent notice on our site.
Analytics and log files
We use aggregate analytics to understand which pages are read and which are not. This tells us how many people read a given review, roughly what country they were in, and which language edition they used. It does not identify you individually.
Like most web servers, standard server logs record anonymous technical metadata (browser type, referring URL, timestamp) solely for network security and traffic diagnostic purposes.
Embedded content and outbound links
Restaurant pages may embed a Google Maps frame showing the location. Loading that frame means Google receives a standard HTTP request from your browser and may set cookies in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.
Regional guide entries link out to Google Maps and TripAdvisor searches to confirm current hours and prices. Those are ordinary outbound links marked nofollow. Once you follow an external link, that third party’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights (GDPR & US State Privacy Laws)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data, restrict or object to data processing, and data portability. Because this site holds no personal account records, there is generally no individual data to retrieve or erase.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and other US state privacy laws, residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal data directly; opt-out of ad personalization is available via Google Ads Settings.
