WhereToEatNow Review
The conceit at Sea Me is a good one: a proper fish counter at the front, packed with ice and whatever came in that morning, and a kitchen behind it that will treat your choice either the Portuguese way — whole, on the grill, with olive oil and salt — or the Japanese way, as sashimi and nigiri. The same fish, two entirely different arguments about how to respect it.
Both halves work. The grill is handled well, with the restraint good Portuguese fish cookery requires, and the raw side is sharper than most dedicated sushi places in the city because the sourcing is genuinely better. The move is to do both: start with a small sashimi selection while you decide, then have something whole from the ice grilled for the table. The prawn and shellfish dishes are also strong.
It is priced by weight for the fish from the counter, which is where the bill can escalate, so ask what a piece weighs before you commit. Wine service is solid and the room is loud, modern and busy in a way that suits a long dinner.
Honest notes: the by-weight pricing catches people out and it is worth being direct about it up front. It is not cheap, and the room is bright and noisy rather than romantic. Purists on either side — the grilled-fish traditionalists and the sushi obsessives — will each find something to grumble about. But as a place to eat genuinely fresh fish two ways in one sitting, it is the most enjoyable version of that idea in Lisbon.
